According to Lucasarts it would need a cray super computer to run on the pc, or in other words a machine with the awesome computational powers of a.... wii! or Even a PS2.
Sounds like a poor excuse to but its been discussed ad-nauseum in the gaming forum
The graphics are a bit weak, PS2 weak, but the gameplay is immensely fun. Annihilating a wave of storm troopers with a flick of the nunchuck never gets old.

Dark Forces II was an awesome game back in the day. I always felt after playing it that one of the things missing from modern SW games are the FMV sequences.
ive tried the ngage version of this on my n95. its a bit weird as you dont walk around you just do strange gestures on the keyboard to attack, i assume the iphone one is the same but with on screen gestures?
I really wish there was a PC version. I can't believe they went through the trouble of making a PS2, Wii, even DS/PSP (which one was it?) version and not a PC version. Meh.
I'll probably get it and play it some day, like when a 360 is under $100.
I'm a huge fan of the Dark Forces and JK series, my favorite being Jedi Knight. It's nice to see that they at least did a decent job on this. Jedi Outcast had some great moments but overall wasn't too good. Jedi Academy was just... ugh.
No-one commented on the horrificly frustrating and rage enducing targetting system?
"Let me take this strom trooper *picks up barrel* NO *gets hit by rocket and flung to ground* Gah.. *gets up* I need to grab the *grabs tree branch* GAH *gets knocked down* grr *gets up* Fine, I'll just light you up *tergetting locks onto rock as force lightning is unleashed* Godamnit *gets killed*"
After playing the PS3 demo I quickly realized that this game wouldn't be all that great. My friend picked up a copy, said he finished it in ~20 hours and then returned it and bought some PSN games (The Last Guy (very fun!)).
Heck I had more fun with Eternal Sonata than Force Unleashed. Seriously.

No? No-one's had that?
I found it a little annoying but not that bad, it's not too difficult to learn how to do.
One problem I have is throwing things, they never go the direction I'm pushing them.
well, there is one reason to forgive the games innumerable sins, but since it contains spoilers I'll just provide the link: How-to-play-Force-Unleashed
I still find it incredibly frustrating that when a boss starts a combo on you, your character just stands there dumbly taking the abuse until the combo is over.
That or if you get knocked down, and you're mashing the A button to get up, and you get hit by force push or another knock down, you fall right back down, still mashing the A button furiously, only to be knocked down again just as your character decides to pick himself up.
Or the Vader bit, at the end, get knocked down by push, mash A to get up, just as you get up, he Force Grips you, so you mash the B button, but it still throws you sideways and knocks you down, mash A, he fires Force Push and you get knocked down again, mash A, Force Grip, masg B, get knocked down, rinse, repeat, until you die and throw the controller through the TV.
The game may be a bit meh, but the review put me in the mood to finally install Kotor, so thats another weekend you guys owe me since this one evaporated in a force esque haze.

Or is our platform not good enough for this game to be released on?

thanks for the review, i hope to encourage my friends (one with PS3, the other with Wii) to buy it :P the one on iPhone is pretty good.
I got it. ahaha :D
Oh, there this one cool bit where nuh uh... spoilers only lead to the Dark Side.
I'll probably get it and play it some day, like when a 360 is under $100.

haha, well played
on the iPhone, it's just gestures. using 2 figure gestures to change force power, 1 fingure to use that force power.

Maybe it's just my game..
