Why wasn't the board tested with the extra external heatsink that can be attached to the heatsink on the PWMs? I know it wouldn't have made much difference to the tests but it would have been good to see the installation process.

It doesn't come with one.

hey, i am sure you just press the power on and reset button on the board to clear bios, my DFI board is like that, reset switch and a power on, hold the two down and it resets the bios

DFI lanparty UT icfx3200-T2r/g btw

ICFX3200 FTW - that board was pure genius, it's a shame the BIOS is so unoptimised so the memory latency is bad. :-(

yeah, good board it still chugging away with my rooted psu LOL! Causes some voltage problem, killed my last asus board.. So far the bios is corrupt but she still goes! (1 years and a bit now :D) ( god knows how O.o)

I simply buy them since they are so solid :>

Been waiting for a board like this to upgrade to! :D

I love DFI boards - the new Intel voltage jiggery pokery frightens me though. So many settings! :D

Wait until you see my news post later then...

If it doesn't support SLi - why 3 PCI-e slots?

I would have snapped up this board if it was SLi compatible :(
Quote Krikkit 12th May 2008, 13:58
It does Crossfire.

Sorry, thread necro...

I spent the weekend playing with my DFI, and aside from the woes of getting one of the horrible new batches of Q6600 (L806A) which have terrible VIDs... (1.3125v) it's been quite fun. :)

I'm slightly puzzled about one thing I've experienced; the X48 chipset is supposed to support 400MHz FSB natively, is it not? I can't get 400MHz FSB stable for love nor money - Windows will just lock up after anything from 30 to 90 minutes of SmallFFTs or OCCT - even with the CPU back at a 6x multi so it's at equivalent stock speed. It's not the RAM either, as I'm running that at it's rated 800MHz, and with the timings slacked right off to eliminate it as a potential cause. I don't think that voltage to the Northbridge should be an issue, given that it's supposed to do 400MHz on the QX9770 chip by default, but I tried increasing it (within reason) to see no effect. Anyone got any ideas?

...also, what would you consider a 'safe' maximum voltage for the NB for 24/7 use?
