But then my question is this: we (=my grandpa and me) are kind of working on a super-silent-wooden-watercooled-custom-case
What kilowatt PSU would you recommend then(In terms of efficiency, sound&cable length) for a 70% load on it (lots of lights, cupple of pomps and fully automatic drive-bay lifts (yeah, its going to be a little bit over the top there)
PS: Not the Coolermaster Ultimate 900 plz (Belgium is slow to take on new hardware apparently and I can't find that one anywhere)[/QUOTE]
I WOULD NOT run even a small DC motor in with my components. depending on its load they can have a tremendous start up amperage. A little windshield wiping motor of 5 running amps spikes at 40 on start according to my amp meter. (I know this because I have turned the motor into a dc generator) along with the heavy start load they will also send electrical noise through the wiring in your system. Not something I want to have fed into my gfx card, ram or processor.

:D Something in the back of my mind knew there was a problem with it.
But here's the thing - if this were a HX750W it would be fantastic, and indeed we gave the TX750W an excellence award but not many people need 1000W PSUs.
That's the minor dilemma I had, 1000W and modular? Or would a HX620 do? What would modular really do for me?
I found that I'd only have one of the strings of modular cables unplugged anyway, so plumped for the TX750. I may have to rma it soon as I think the fan's catching on the plastic guard. It makes a very minor noise, but my previous Hiper 530w by comparison is quiet!
oooh, sounds interesting. Problem is, I need the new rig going by the end of September. A month is a fairly long time to not have a PC in Uni. Are there any details out about the new range yet? It's hard to know whether to just buy this, or wait out the new Enermax, when even a google search only comes up with 2 hits and no information on it!
For now : (until pr & review is released) Revolution85+
> 6 rails @ 30amps
> 1250W only model for europe (230V) sorry usa
> GPU/CPU futureproof
> 80plus Silver certified
> 24/7 @ 50°C
> Ultra quiet
> Smaller by size than its previous successor Galaxy
Could somebody please explain to me how the 800watt dual fan psu can cost £28.50, http://www.desktopoption.co.uk/gamingbase/Intel_Duo_Core_2_-_NVIDIA_GeForce_9800.html - - - - look under the 'add some extras' heading near the bottom, Is that thing worth it? I am building a pc on that site and need to know whether I should get that with it? Help plx

So does that mean it will like, simply not work, or will it mess up my components, I dont know! Im not very tech savvy, the case i chose comes with a 650w psu if that makes a diff.

Appreciate the confirmation.
Thats why the computing gods created the Meanwell 224W PSU and eBay :p

Do we have any idea how much it is going to cost?
Yes we have a RMA centre in Milton Keynes. :)

Anyway, thanks for the info thus far. I think i might still just have to buy the HX1000W =/
It will be very, very crap quality.
In fact, all those extra's look exceedingly poor.
