Lumière Noire

One look at the modder's name says it all. E.E.L. Ambiense is no stranger to this spread, though he's yet to take home the prize for it. Could this month be the one?
His latest project, Lumière Noire, is actually a revisit to an old project – his main rig. With that in mind, you can bet that he's saved all his best tricks for this one, and that it will be top notch. And sure enough, it only takes about the first five or six pictures before you start seeing some great work taking shape.
And by shape, of course, we mean cut – as in laser cut... and lots of it!
Fans designed for RAM cooling are nice to have on a high-end system, particularly when it's being watercooled – after all, the air isn't getting moved around nearly as well. But doesn't it look better when you personalise it?
Fan grilles are nice, but just like with RAM, they're better personalized. Start out with a nicely laser-cut pattern, and then add a beautiful paint job...a bit of modder's mesh, some nice machine screws.
...a little gunmetal paint and some handles...
...some wonderfully cut hard-drive holders with some Scythe QuietDrive containers. A double radiator grille, double fill-ports...
...and a whole new case...
Where will it lead? All we can be sure of is that, given E.E.L.'s track record, it's going to be good. The new Lian-Li case is in good hands, though
it may not think so. It had been out of the package by only a few hours and was already dissected on a table. We'll just have to see what he does with it by keeping an eye on his
worklog.
Of course, before you do that, you could help E.E.L. Ambiense finally get the prize he keeps coming oh-so-close to by casting a
vote for Lumière Noire as the Mod of the Month for April!
