Mineral Oil PC by Andrew Mollmann (legoman666)

Original bit-tech article: Here
While water-cooling is more popular today than it's ever been, it still remains a niche area when it comes to cooling. As such, imagine our amazement when we came across Andrew Mollmann's Mineral Oil PC; a computer that has all its hardware totally submerged in mineral oil.

Needless to say, the journey from dream to reality wasn't an easy one for Andrew when he set about building this machine. The case had to be handmade, and the PC managed to soak his bedroom floor when gallons of mineral oil leaked from the tank. There were also issues such as oil corrosion and heat transfer to overcome too. We can't knock the end result, though, and Mineral Oil PC was certainly a hugely popular project on the bit-tech forums.

With its insides illuminated through large side windows, showing the oil roiling off the graphics cards, there's no doubt that Mineral Oil PC deserves its place amongst this year's nominees.
