Bit-tech Mod of the Year 2014: The Winners in Association with Corsair
It's all over, and what a year 2014 was for PC modding. We can honestly say it was one of the best years in a long time for world-class modding projects. To start with, once again we'd like to thank Corsair for sponsoring our modding articles. It's stumped up £1,000 to offer our winners their choice of swanky gear.
We'd also like to pay homage to our modders and modding community. Without them, none of the epic feats of eye-candy that we saw a few weeks ago would have been created. Of course, if you're wondering what all the fuss is about, then you can see our Mod of the Year 2014 article with 24 of the most amazing PCs from last year
here.
Before we announce the winners, we'd like to recap on how the voting worked this year. We had one vote - a public one, held in a poll within the article and you were able to pick your favourite case mods and scratch builds. From these two lists, we took the top five from each to go before our panel of judges who then picked their favourites. We ranked these in order using a points-based system to identify what they thought were the best projects.
Finally, our top prize goes to the best overall project. It's one that was in the top ten most popular projects overall and one that our judges thought was the best based on looks, originality, skill and execution. This year, it turned out to be a case mod, so our best case mod category features the next most popular case mod as runner-up as voted for by our judges. This gives us our three winners for 2014: the best case mod (runner up), the best scratchbuild and the best overall project - the mod of the year.
Best Overall Project
Streamliner by aio

Streamliner was a favourite of many of the bit-tech team and judges before voting had finished and it seems you thought so too. Our clear winner is absolutely fantastic inside and out and perhaps more importantly, it shows that an air-cooled, non-sponsored case mod can win Mod of the Year. Well done aio.
Best Case Mod (runner up)
The Black Dream by Corsaronero333

If ever there was a case mod that epitomised awesomeness, overkill and everything a case mod should be, The Black Dream would be on the list of contenders. Corsaronero333 is no stranger to world-class projects and his entry this year is a fitting winner of the best case mod category.
Best Scratchbuild
The Temple by quizz_kid

Believe us when we say it was incredibly close at the top in both the public and judges votes for the best scratchbuild. Our hats come off to three other contenders, who were all within just two points of our winner for the best scratchbuild - The Dark Knight by abbas-it, Lizard desk by awadon and Loramentum by Maki role. However, we can only have one winner. Finally, and this is very long overdue, quizz_kid has picked up the best scratchbuild of the year prize with the achingly beautiful The Temple.
Congratulations to all our winners. Again, if you want to see all the projects featured in bit-tech's Mod of the Year 2014, head
here. We'll be back soon with our monthly modding articles and we look forward to seeing what you all come up with in 2015.
