T.R.O.N [V4] by andy_mcp1
Project Log: Here
With the T.R.O.N sequel still to be released, related projects are still thin on the ground (given the eyecandy-tastic visuals it promises, we expect plenty more T.R.O.N-themed projects in coming months). However we think we've found a cracker here with andy_mcp1's new scratchbuild that he started at the end of September.
The fantastic early renders had us hooked with a glossy black exterior providing the perfect backdrop for a glowing blue line reminiscent of of the 1982 classic.
The chassis is being fashioned out of acrylic which has been bent to shape to curve round the front of the case. It's intriguing to watch andy_mcp1 go through the process of making the long sweeping sections gradually wrapping themselves around a wooden cast and the end result seems spot on to us.
Additional renders show how the case will come together with two shells making up the case. The motherboard tray and back panel were made from scratch and look fantastic once they donned a coat of satin black paint.
In more recent updates, the project is really coming along and andy_mcp1 has not only test-fitted the shell and chassis, but has also made some headway in making that all-important blue luminous light tape which is actually comprised of light emitting phosphors, similar to how Plasma televisions are backlit. It certainly does the trick.

That's all for this month! We'll be back next month with Mod of the Month and also the much-anticipated Mod of the Year.
