Positronic Brain by awadon
Project Log: Here
He's already made one of the best-looking
steampunk PCs we've seen this year, but forum user awadon is already back with another take on the popular steampunk theme. Positronic Brain has quickly become one of the most popular projects in our forums, and looks set to become yet another classic.
This project that makes use of an ion lightning ball; a feature that we're sure will look fantastic when it's mixed with the steampunk styling. Even more interesting is that awadon will be making the move to water-cooling; something he came close to doing with his last project. A part of the cooling system is this distiller, which he'll be filling with two different liquids.
The overall shape of the project is clearly visible in the above images, which show the front of the case. In a similar way to his previous Steam & Current project, the monitor will be mounted to the PC itself in a custom-made frame.
The aforementioned frame is pictured above, made primarily of beech wood - a heck of a lot of work went in to this. A veneer cover was made for the support arm too.
After what must have been a mammoth sanding session, the wood is now receiving its first coat of treatment. What's more, awadon has now got as far as installing the ion lightning ball, which looks fantastic.
We don't recommend missing anything in awadon's project log, so make sure you
check it out on a regular basis. If you'd like to vote for it, then head over to our
forum.
