James Silva is an indie developer I've been following for a while and one who I've always suspected would someday make it big with his furiously funny zombie-survival games. Well, that day has now come a step closer as Jim has been announced as the winner of Microsoft's Dream-Build-Play competition.
Revealed back in December last year to co-incide with the launch of the XNA Game Studio Express development tool for Xbox Live, the competition winners would be offered publishing contracts for their games on XBL.
Jims entry to the competition was
The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai, a gory platformer in a similar style to his other games,
Zombie Smashers X and
Survival Crisis Zero, both of which can be downloaded from his
website.
The other winners in the contest were
Yo Ho Kablammo! and
Gravitron Ultra. All of which will be coming to Xbox Live in the coming months. It's
The Dishwasher which has caught our attention though, due to the fast and frantic action and the spurting fountains of blood. Just don't tell Jack Thompson we said that.
The trailer has just been added online, so check it out and be sure to grab a copy of the game when it becomes available. Supporting indie games is something we wholeheartedly encourage.
Got any other indie games to suggest to us, or maybe you want to bemoan the fact that there's no PC version to speak of? Either way,
get to the forums!
