Ryan Davis, eight year veteran and Associate Editor of GameSpot, has resigned from the site in the on-going wake of the deporably named Gerstmann-gate. The resignation comes two months to the day after anonymous GameSpot insiders
warned of mass resignations from the site.
GameDaily.biz confirmed the resignation with Ryan who said that his resignation was connected to the controversial dismissal of Jeff Gerstmann a short while ago.
"
I would not be in the video game business at all were it not for Jeff Gerstmann...this absolutely breaks my heart...it's the end of an era for both GameSpot and myself," Ryan said in a final
GameSpot blog.
Davis joins the likes of Frank Provo and Alex Navarro - other editors who have resigned in protest to the way the site is now being run.
GameSpot itself hasn't issued an official comment on the on-going resignations of core staff members, but that itself isn't very surprising. GameSpot was also criticised for not
responding to accusations of advertising pressure, which was believed to be the reason why Jeff Gerstmann was fired, in a timely manner.
