Why would they bi-amp the sub when it only has a single 8" driver? Even if the driver has dual voice coils it would make little sense. Also, THX is a standards commission and not a trademarked technology, so take their opinion with a grain of salt. The "classHD" amplifier has the same effect as a simple limiter to prevent hard clipping.
