Those of you wanting to play Blizzard's upcoming
Diablo 3 on a console may be pleased to hear that Blizzard could be actively pursuing the idea instead of just leaving it as "
theoretically possible", which is how the company described the idea last year.
In fact, according to Blizzard's Paul Sams, Blizzard isn't just hypothetically interested in bringing the dungeon romp to consoles and has actually entered into discussions with the first-party console makers. That's according to GameTrailers TV presenter Geoff Keighley, who uncovered the news recently.
"
Paul Sams of Blizzard says they haven't ruled out Diablo III for consoles, and are currently talking to the first parties,"
tweeted Keighley.
The news of a possible console version comes shortly after Blizzcon and GamesCom 2009, where Blizzard unveiled a new Monk character for
Diablo 3 and confirmed a number of new details for the game, including new efforts to block cheat and item duplication hacks, as well as a system to stop loot stealing in multiplayer games.
All of this was just a little bit over-shadowed by the announcement of a new
World of WarCraft expansion though, dubbed
Cataclysm and the fact that Bruce Campbell is being teased for the role of Leeroy Jenkins in the upcoming
World of WarCraft movie that'll be directed by Sam Raimi.
