The PC version of Pandemic's
The Saboteur is apparently having some significant stability problems with certain types of PC hardware. Namely, it doesn't seem to work on any ATI graphics cards. At all.
The news comes from the
official game forums (via
Eurogamer), which are filled with complaints that the game will just refuse to run on any ATI systems and works only on Nvidia hardware.
The Saboteur, which is a third-person shooter based in Nazi-occupied Paris and which casts players as an Irish race driver turned resistance fighter, was released last week and is the last title that Pandemic managed to release before being closed by EA.
It's also worth noting that
The Saboteur is signed up to Nvidia's
The Way It's Meant To Be Played support program.
There's no official fix or patch available yet and with
Pandemic now all but officially closed it's unclear when one might arrive. At the moment though EA has unveiled a
temporary workaround - albeit one which involves disabling multiple CPU core support.
It's a shame as the game itself doesn't seem all that bad - check out our
review of the PlayStation 3 version of The Saboteur to find out what we think in full.
