A Game of Thrones game from Walking Dead developer Telltale Games is in development according to anonymous sources.
Talking to IGN, multiple sources close to the matter confirmed that work on the IP is under way.
It is not yet clear whether the game will be based on author George R.R. Martin's books in the Song of Fire and Ice saga, or the popular HBO TV adaptation of those books.
Telltale Games itself has declined to comment officially, adding that these sorts of rumours about what it is working on crop up from time to time. Developer co-founder Dan Connors did however recently reveal during a Reddit Q&A that the studio is working on some properties that fall into the 'dream IP scenario'.
Game of Thrones has already received the video game treatment in an RPG title released in May 2012 from Cyanide. The game received poor reviews and many considered the title to be rushed and suffering from a lack of polish.
Telltale Games' most recent release is The Wolf Among us, based on the successful graphic novel series Fables. It is also working on season two of the popular Walking Dead series.
The Games of Thrones television adaptation from HBO has catapulted the popular fantasy series of books into the mainstream and has become a huge success. The third series finished in June this year and the fourth is scheduled to begin early 2014.
