City of Heroes, part of the current swathe of MMPORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games) cutting through the ether, has today released it's long awaited "Issue 4: Colosseum" patch which enables players to fight each other in a virtual Arena.

For those unfamiliar with the concept of City of Heroes, each player is a Superhero whose job is to fight crime wherever he, or she, may find it and as you can imagine, there's a lot of it about in Paragon City, where the game is based.

However, not content with slapping the irons on digital wrongdoers the latest patch brings a much requested option to Pow, Zap and Blammo their fellow compadres, presumably for fun. Although, whilst I knew certain good guys held little love for one another, I don't often recall my childhood comics consisting of Wolverine beating seven shades of super-abilities out of Rogue.

There are options to fight one-on-one, in teams, free for alls or in super 'Battle Royales' of up to 64 people per side. With that many superpowers going off, it's a wonder they can keep the roof on the place.

Should you be aching to dust off the cape and fry good and bad guys alike, more information can be found at the City of Heroes Website
