GSC Game World, the developers behind the annoyingly named S.T.A.L.K.E.R series (henceforth, just STALKER), have released a new benchmarking tool for the next game in the series, Call of Pripyat.

Call of Pripyat is a sequel to Shadow of Chernobyl.

Although Call of Pripyat is already available in German-speaking countries, a translated version is still being finished and isn't due for release until the first quarter of 2010.

In the mean time though you can download the benchmark tool to see how well your PC might cope with GSC Game World's post-apocalyptic shooter, which includes DirectX 11 content on compatible systems.

The benchmark runs a quick demo loop which cycles through four different stages of lighting and weathers, before giving you a performance score which you can then submit to an online leaderboard.

You can read our past reviews on STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl and STALKER: Clear Sky, as well as our re-review of the initially very buggy Clear Sky, for more information on the series.
