Liquid-cooling specialist EK Water Blocks has announced the launch of its latest L-Series liquid-cooling kits, featuring improved block and more powerful pump.

Based on the company's existing EK-KIT L-Series liquid-cooling kits, the new Revision 2.0 release is an evolution rather than revolution. The biggest changes are a shift to bundling the company's EK-Supremacy MX UNI water block, claimed to offer improved heat transfer performance than the block it replaces, and a shift to a new Laing/Xylem DDC-Series pulse-width modulation (PWM) controlled pump integrated into the reservoir and offering a claimed boost to both power and reliability. The bundles also include EK-Vardar fans as standard, designed by EK specifically for radiator use and offering a higher static pressure than the outgoing models.

As before, the family is split into three separate kits: the EK-KIT L120 R.20, L240 R2.0 and L360 2.0. As you might surmise from the names, the only difference is in the size of the bundled EK-CoolStream radiator: the entry-level model features a 120mm radiator with single EK-Vardar fan; the mid-range model upgrades to a 240mm radiator with dual EK-Vardar fans; the range-topping kit features a 360mm radiator with three EK-Vardar fans, for those with higher-than-normal cooling requirements and a suitably spacious case.

Although the kits are built with newcomers to liquid cooling in mind, they're not all-in-one designs but instead a bundle of parts with guaranteed compatibility. As a result, the loops they create are upgradeable to include the company's chipset, graphics and RAM water blocks, or those of a rival company. As standard, the kit supports Intel's LGA-775, 1366, 1150, 1155, 1156, 2011 and 2011-3 socket types, along with AMD's Socket 754, 939, 940, AM2, AM3, FM1 and FM2 as well as their Plus variants. The kit also includes EK_Tube ZMT Matte Black tubing, nickel AK-ACF compression fittings, and a 100ml bottle of EK-Ekoolant Evo Clear concentrate.

UK pricing has yet to be confirmed by the company, which has has set a manufacturers' recommended retail price of €244.95 for the L120 R.20, €259.95 for the L240 R2.0, and €279.95 for the L360 R2.0. More information is available on the company's website.
