London UK, 22 February 2011 - Buffalo Technology, a global leader in the design, development and manufacturing of storage and wireless networking solutions, is today announcing the launch of two multi-drives to add to its USB 3.0 family.

The USB 3.0 DriveStation Duo and DriveStation Quad are high performance, multimedia external hard drives designed for demanding users who want to achieve faster transfer speeds and require greater capacity. Intended for the home or small office, the new DriveStation range boasts 10 times faster transfer speeds than USB 2.0, accelerating the time it takes users to back up large servers or multimedia files.

The plug-and-play devices are pre-formatted for immediate use. The removable front panel ensures users can quickly and easily replace drives when required. Furthermore the ‘AutoPower’ function means the drives turn on and off with your PC, reducing power consumption.

The DriveStation Duo is available in 2TB, 4TB and 6TB capacities. It is a two-drive, two-bay RAID enabled drive with RAID 0 for performance and RAID 1 for redundant storage. The DriveStation Quad is a four-drive, four-bay RAID enabled drive with RAID 0 for performance and RAID 5 or 10 for redundant storage. Currently offered in 4TB and 8TB, the DriveStation Quad will also be available in 12TB later this year.

Paul Hudson, Sales Director for Northern Europe at Buffalo Technology comments: “As the first manufacturer to ship USB 3.0 in the UK, we are delighted to be able to offer multi-drive USB 3.0 products for the more demanding user. The new DriveStation Duo and DriveStation Quad are an extension of our USB 3.0 family and as the industry moves further towards USB 3.0, users can absolutely expect to see more products like this from Buffalo Technology.”

The DriveStation Duo is available for purchase immediately and the DriveStation Quad will be available for purchase from March onwards.

Buffalo products can be found at leading outlets such as Amazon.co.uk, Misco.co.uk, and dabs.com
