The first round of Gigabyte's TweaKING competition here in Paris was won by the Czech Republic with a SuperPi 32M time of 9 minutes and 3 seconds, running a base clock of 220MHz with the Kingston memory at 2,200MHz, and the Core i5-750 CPU at 4GHz.
Our UK/Greece combined team unfortunately suffered the wrath of Lady Luck with a memory failure, leading to a time of just 9 minutes 19 seconds.
The teams are limited to 4GHz on the Intel Core i5 750 CPU, and have a standard set of hardware: Gigabyte GA-P55-UD6 motherboard, Kingston HyperX T1 2,000MHz C9 memory, a Gigabyte GTX260 Super Overclock GPU, Kingston SSDNow V+ 64GB SSD Enermax Modu 82+ 625W PSU and Glacial Tech CPU cooler.
The aim is to tweak the motherboard (and by extension, memory) and WinXP OS as much as possible, rather than achieve the ultimate CPU frequency.
Round 2, the 3DMark01 challenge, is currently underway and you can watch the live feed right
