Illuminate your PC - Part 3 Illuminate your PC continuedI’m using two panels so I was going to use two inverters but found they gave off different amounts of light. To get over this problem I decided using one inverter would be better and also save the precious space I had.

Opening up both inverters again I de-soldered one of the panel connecters and soldered it on to the other inverter, making sure both cables where the same length. This seemed to work and both panels are emitting equal amounts of light.

Now the EL panels are all sorted I moved on to creating the top of the floor, this consisted of a sheet of 4mm clear acrylic for rigidity and some light filtering paper called Frost 125, that would be used to hide the line created by my two panels overlapping. The filter paper needed to be about 10 mm above the panels to give the light room to spread out and allow the filter paper to work.

Raising the floor meant raising the motherboard runners and tray, which resulted in the backing plate not lining up and having to be redone (that £200 panel looks like a good option now right?). Once the flooring parts where complete all that was left to do was put it together.

During leak testing the fitting that where going through the floor where did not fully seal so I put them back on with some sealant. Once the fittings where back on the rest was assembled and mounted in to the case for final testing.
