Project F.E.A.R.

Ever wondered if Murphy was a case modder? To paraphrase his Law, when you're on a tight timeline and you have a concrete deadline, something is bound to go wrong. In the case of Project F.E.A.R., our first batch of CaseSkins was lost somewhere over the Pacific on its way from PolyGFX in the States to my house in Melbourne, Australia.

After many days of 'just one more day', the delivery was officially declared MIA, and a second set was printed and dispatched.



Thankfully, this set arrived, and though Australian Customs decided to have a sticky beak, they still turned it around within 24 hours (and on a Sunday I might add) and the race was on to complete the project and deliver it to PC Powerplay magazine in Sydney.



Luckily, PolyGFX did a great job of the print, and though the colours don't show up well in these shots, the detail in the final skins is fantastic.

With the skins in hand, it was time to purchase our guinea pig for this experiment: a stock Lian-Li PC61 aluminimum case:


It is just as well the store I bought it from were unaware that I was about to cover its delicious, brushed and anodised coating with adhesive vinyl, or they might not have sold it to me. The only extra addition was a Lian-Li DVD bezel cover, which you will see later.
