Performance Analysis

At full speed, the 760T manages a truly excellent CPU delta T result of 42°C, which is on par with the SilverStone Raven RV04, a case known for excellent air cooling. The fans do spin fast and certainly aren't the quietest models around (there's also no real attempt to suppress sound), but even so it's an impressive result. Sadly, GPU temperatures aren't as good, though they're not bad either, and the 760T gets a delta T here of 50°C, which a number of cases are able to match at their lowest fan speeds. The result may be surprising given the mesh front panel and unblocked airflow from the front fans, but the equally case's size will reduce the impact of front airflow.

Switching to the low speed mode, neither the noise output nor airflow seem to decrease by a significant amount, so the fan control isn't as versatile as it could be – really we'd like to have seen more channels or speed settings in this price range. However, temperatures also only increase by 1°C or 2°C, which still leaves the 760T with excellent CPU cooling and adequate GPU cooling too.

Conclusion

The 760T stands out with its unique and attractive design, but it's not all about looks. It has all the modern features you'd expect of a case in this price range, is wonderfully easy to work with at every single stage of the build process and has a sensibly designed and flexible interior that can cater to a large range of set-ups. Given that large water-cooling friendly cases like the NZXT Phantom 820 and Phanteks Enthoo Primo are very expensive, on balance the 760T isn't terrible value either, though the Phantom 630 is well worth a look too.

That said, it's not perfect. Build quality, especially on the side and roof panels, could do with an upgrade, especially given the asking price. We also feel that Corsair has missed an opportunity when it comes to fan control. Its implementation of it is better than nothing, but given that the fans can be rather noisy, a more powerful controller with multiple channels and/or speeds would be a welcome sight. These aren't deal breakers, however, and overall the 760T is still a lovely case that won't disappoint. Out of the box cooling is overall very good, and there's heaps of potential for water-coolers too – some well-placed lighting and a tasty liquid-cooling set-up in this case is sure to trigger envy amongst onlookers.
