Alone in the Dark has undergone a bit of reimagining lately, what with an awful film being released starring Christian Slater and a new game in the works for the 360, PS3 and PC. It’s fair to say that this game looks to be pretty good too, with a gorgeous looking engine and a focus on more a more open style of level design set in a city park at night.
Of course, the bad news is that the game recently got delayed a bit and was pushed back for all platforms from this year to the next
fiscal year. For all you non-accountants out there, that means the game may not see a release until as late as March 31, 2008.
But it gets even worse – it turns out there may be a delay within the delay and the PS3 version of the game will
reportedly not be coming out at the same time as the 360 and PC versions.
Speaking to Eurogamer, Atari didn’t give a reason why the PlayStation 3 version of the game will see a later release – although it was confirmed that the PS3 version was definitely still in development.
So, a delay for a PS3 title? Hate to say it, but we aren’t surprised. Delays like these are now fast becoming common for PlayStation 3 ports, though no reason is ever given by the developers.
