We've long been of the opinion that if you're going to spend big on computer audio you're much better off going for high-end headphones than a dedicated gaming headset, which is why we're excited to see audio specialists Bowers & Wilkins has just launched a new over-ear headphone set.

The Bowers & Wilkins P7 are the new flagship of the company's headphone range, joining the smaller on-ear P5 and P3, as well as the in-ear C5.

All the signature B&W touches are in place with leather headband and earcups as well as a stainless steel folding frame and brushed aluminium logo plates. Certainly if the P5s are anything to go by, the P7s will be a seriously premium-feeling and practical set of headphones.

As is par for the course these days a mic is included in the cable making the headphones compatible with mobile phones, and of course potentially making these useful as a gaming headset.

But of course the crucially point of any set of headphones is the sound, and B&W describes the P7 thusly, "Bass is tighter, vocals are more defined, and there’s a wonderful sense of space, balance and clarity across the whole frequency range."

The Bowers & Wilkins P7 will be hitting shop selves imminently with an MSRP of £329.99.
