We're in need of a Staff Writer to work on bit-tech, bit-gamer and Custom PC magazine. This is a junior position on the publication, so it's an ideal place to get started in the world of technical consumer journalism.

The successful applicant will be contributing a wide range of article types, including news, reviews, features and blog posts, so a flexible, creative approach is important. As well as plenty of writing talent, we’re looking for someone who has demonstrated the ability to work well under pressure, as hitting deadlines is key to succeeding in the role.

This is an entry-level role, so while previous experience of journalism is an advantage, it is not a requirement for applicants. What is required is a love for PC hardware, modding, as well as gaming and broader digital technology. There's also plenty of scope for development, so initiative and a pro-active approach to work will help you stand out too, as will a desire to learn new skills.

The role is full-time, based at Dennis Publishing in the heart of London’s West End and offers an excellent remuneration and benefits package, along with fantastic opportunity for career progression.

To apply, please email your CV, a 500-word review of your own PC or one of its key components in the Custom PC and bit-tech style, along with covering letter explaining why you’re the best person for the job to James Gorbold, Group Editor: james [at] custompc.co.uk

The closing date is 4th April 2011, and the full job ad is on the Dennis corporate site. Questions or comments? Let us know in the forums.
