Dead or Alive film trailer, pics

TeamXbox has some outrageous new stills from the Dead or Alive movie.

The film has some fairly ropey stars as the main characters from the game. The plot appears fairly non-existent: the characters are participating in a fighting tournament on an island, each with their own unique motivations.

(Which, if you've finished DoA4 with any of the characters, you'll know are utterly bizarre, ranging from an obsession with jazz trumpet to a desire to make a salad.)

Starring in the film is Jaime Pressley, from Not Another Teen Movie, who plays American wrestling babe Tina (although some might say she lacks the physical attributes required). Devon Aoki, known to most as "Deadly little Miho" from Sin City, plays Kasumi. Holly Vallance, yes, Miss 'Kiss Kiss', plays Christie.

You can also check out the first trailer from the film over at Crave. It's totally bizarre, and appears to feature a lengthy section of beach volleyball.

The film is out this year, but no specific date yet. It's directed by Corey Yuen, who has had some decent Far Eastern films including collaborations with Jet Li.

We're not holding out hope for this as anything other than a cheesy ogle-fest, but go and check out the trailer and give us your thoughts over in the forums.
