For the longest time here at bit-tech, Dell monitors held a special place in many of our hearts. Well for those of you that have been faithful but are ready for an upgrade, the wait may be over.

Dell has introduced its new SP2008WFP monitor that sports a 20-inch screen with a native 1680 x 1050 resolution. It also has a 2000:1 contrast ratio that is well above the 800:1 ratio that available models come in. An HDCP compliant DVI connection, optional soundbar, four USB ports and a built in 2 megapixel webcam round out the features.

A release date of September 12 is set but pricing is currently unavailable.

If 20 inches isn't big enough for you, then check out HP's new offering.

Coming in at 24 inches and a native 1920 x 1200 resolution, the HP w2408 also features an HDCP compliant DVI connection and four USB ports. A contrast ratio of 1000:1 and a 92 percent wide colour gamut should fill the needs of you graphical designers out there. The monitor also features an adjustable stand that will allow you to place the screen exactly where you want it.

Of course the meat behind the monitor is the ability to rotate it from landscape to portrait mode to enable you to work on those extra long documents without having to scroll down.

If you're wanting one of these now, you can pick one up now for $560 in the states or for less then £350 the UK if you shop around.
