A couple of days ago Ubisoft announced that Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 is being developed for 360, PS3, PSP, PC. It's being made by the same people who developed the first game and is currently scheduled for release in the Spring next year.

Laurent Detoc, President of Ubisoft North America, was in a self-indulgent mood:

“Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter set the standard for what we know as the next-generation gaming experience. With Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, Ubisoft is taking all the successful elements in the original to an unparalleled level of quality – the sophisticated technology, weaponry, graphics, story and online gameplay will heighten the intensity and bring gamers an even more amazing experience.”

The new features aren't too inspiring. GRAW 2 will take place on US soil, will feature improved artificial intelligence, improved communications as well as the ability to command air-strikes and heal team mates on the battlefield. Overall though we're getting the impression that this will be more of the same as opposed to a Ghost Recon revolution. The trailer is due to be released on December 15th.

Below are the four images currently available for the game (three screenshots and one piece of concept art). If you like it big then you can click here, here, here and here for the full sized images.
