BT is opening a LAN cafe with a 100Mbps connection to the net.
The cafe will open next to Goonhilly, which is BT's major satellite and communications station. It's based in Cornwall, has 61 satellites and handles broadcast and comms signals from around the world, coming in and out of the UK.
There's some massive bandwidth there, and BT is piping that out to a new building on-site, where users can come and battle for a share of the 100Mbps connection.
Anyone for a roadtrip? BYO Steam accounts!
Of course, this will seem like rather a non-event to our Scandinavian readers - techies in Sweden are now beginning to enjoy 100Mbps
into their houses.
You can find out more about Goonhilly
here, and let us know your thoughts on this uber-fast cafe
over in the forums.
