Bethesda Software, the creators of the awesomely addictive Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, has released a patch for the PC on an appropriate day - 06/06/06. The patch fixes a fair number of bugs including item glitches and crash issues. There are also a number of quest fixes which should allow players experiencing these problems to progress in the game.

More importantly, the patch fixes a number of save game issues including preventing crashes while loading and fixing the non-ability to save games. However the fix may be too late for those who have already restarted the game, to their dismay.

Although a number of fixes have been made the patches are only between 1.2 and 1.6MB in size, so you should be up and running pretty quickly.

The Xbox 360 patch should be available for English users sometime today on Xbox Live, meanwhile PC users can download their patch here. Be sure to download the correct patch for your region.
