According to a cryptic Nintendo press release, the Wii could ship as soon as October 2nd.
A release from the PR chaps at Ninty shows the upcoming dates of Nintendo DS game releases, including Nintendogs Dalmation and Kirby's Squeak Squad.
However, the release also says "Perhaps the secret to the launch information for Wii is somehow encoded in the text of this news item."
What's been noticed is that there's a Nintendo DS game being released every Monday in the fourth quarter, except for three - October 2nd, November 20th and November 27th, meaning those dates are lacking Nintendo game releases for existing platforms.
The 27th is after 'Black Friday', a massive American shopping weekend, so that seems unlikely. The 20th is kind of late, since it will be post-PS3 release. That leaves October 2nd as the date that seems to be left open for the Wii.
That's only Wii-minus-two months! The prospect of getting to grips with the system that soon is pretty exciting, and we're going to be paying close attention to Nintendo press releases from now on!
