If you're fortunate (or is that unfortunate?) enough to live in London, an event that will be taking place at the Science Museum in a couple of days may be of some interest - an opportunity to play both the Nintendo Wii and the Playstation 3 before their UK launch.
The
Game On exhibition, taking place at the Science Museum in South-West London, is dedicated to showing the developments made in the gaming industry from 1962 through to 2002. The show stopper, however, will be the two stands making an appearance on Wednesday of this week – a fully playable Playstation 3 and a fully playable Nintendo Wii.
Gaetan Lee, programmes developer at the Science Museum, said:
“Visitors will now be able to see and play all three of the platforms which will dominate the future of video gaming. The Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii will all be in Game On, plugged in and ready to play. Visitors can experience the graphics, interactivity and intensity that are to form the next stage of gaming’s technological and cultural development.”
The consoles, which are neigh on impossible to get hold of, will be available to play for the price of £8.50 (£6.50 if you can pass yourself off as a child or an old age pensioner). On top of that you'll also get to see a whole host of gaming nostalgia as the exhibition takes a trip into gaming's history.
We definitely recommend taking a look at the
Game On site and, if you need directions to get to the Museum, click
here.
Will you be going to the Science Museum to play the PS3 or the Wii? Let us know in the
