It looks like its that time of the week again when Ubisoft announces another Tom Clancy title and just when it seemed that everyone was starting to get over
Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 as well.
Still, omnipresent as the titles are they still generally offer up a few hours of fun for strategic FPS fans and hopefully the new title,
Tom Clancy's EndWar, will do the same. It will certainly have a lot to live up to as the
Rainbow Six,
Ghost Recon and
Splinter Cell games have sold over 45 million units collectively.
Scheduled for release in late 2007 or early 2008,
EndWar will be a strategy game set on the battlefields of World War III and will be unfortunately aimed solely at next-gen consoles.
Serge Hascoët, the Chief Creative Officer at Ubisoft, promises that
EndWar will
"allow gamers to lead their own armies against hundreds of others online in real global locations on the massive battlefields of World War III."
Online military-based multiplayer? Vastly different to all other Tom Clancy titles then.
If you're a fan of the Tom Clancy games, or just want to breathe a sigh of relief that this game doesn't appear to have a book attached to it, then let us know
in the forums.
