Electronic Arts has released a bundle of new screenshots of the Xbox 360 version of Battlefield 2.
It looks pretty darned good. Evident in the screens are some great lighting and shadow effects and some very high resolution polygon models and texture maps.
Subtitled: 'Modern Combat', the Xbox 360 version will add all the things you would really expect it to - such as online play via Xbox Live, voice communication, 5.1 surround sound - all the things that make Xbox 360 a pretty neat platform to play on.
The PC version of BF2 includes a system of rankings and awards, and this will surely fit in well with the Achievements system implemented in the new Live service.
However, there is just one question mark over this version - how will it compare, graphically, next to the setup we've got in the
bit-tech labs at the moment? We've been running BF2 on a FX-60 with 2GB of RAM and a X1900 CrossFire setup. We've been playing at 70+ FPS at 2048x1536, 6xAA and 16xAF on a 21" CRT. BF2 looks pretty damn sweet at that resolution, we tell ya.
Will you be picking up the Xbox version of the game? How are you finding the PC version now it's matured a little, patch-wise?
