Bethesda's Pete Hines has been on the interview circuit lately and while we're still in the process of typing up our four-page interview with the RPG mogul, that hasn't slowed Pete down at all. In fact, he's been so busy hyping up
Fallout 3 that he even says it's better than Bethesda's last game -
Oblivion.
Speaking to
Videogamer, Pete said that there was no doubt in his mind that the latest game to come from the creators of
The Elder Scrolls series was far and away better than
Oblivion.
"
I have no doubts in my mind that, at its core and for everything that it provides that Fallout is a better game than Oblivion was. For sure...I don’t have any doubts that on the whole, and I think this is a belief universally shared on the team that Fallout is a better game," said Pete.
A lot of that has probably got to do with the feedback the team got for certain controversial elements of
Oblivion, such as the world-levelling feature which promised players a perpetual, but bland feeling of being challenged. A lot of these elements have now been fixed thankfully and, as we found out in our
hands-on with Fallout 3 last week, the game is now a lot more varied in the challenges it offers.
That isn't to say that
Fallout 3 is without issues though and we're sure that hardcore fans will have more than enough things to moan about when the game gets release later this year on the Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3.
What do you reckon of the way the game is shaping up? Take a look at our
hands-on and then let us know what you think in
