Bethesda's Marketing and PR honcho, Pete Hines, has said that the developer is definitely considering making a further game in the series after the release of
Fallout 3
Speaking to
bit-tech late last week at a
Fallout 3 hands on session Hines said that although
Fallout 3 is the priority right now,
Fallout 4 is a possibility.
"
Ha! Let’s finish this one first, please! Y’know, we didn’t buy this series so that we could make Fallout 3 and put it away and never do it again," said Hines.
"
We own Fallout. The series is wholly ours. We’ve just licensed back the rights to an MMO to Interplay under certain conditions, but it’s still ours just like The Elder Scrolls is ours.
"I would say that somewhere down the road, Fallout 4 almost certainly happen – but lets make sure that Fallout 3 is good first."
Bethesda has already licensed back the rights for
Fallout 4 and
Fallout 5, but this is the first time that the developer has indicated a firm plan to continue expanding the series.
Out full four-page interview with Pete Hines will be going up later this week, but if you're interested in finding more about the game then you can always check out our
hands-on preview of Fallout 3, or let us know your thoughts in
