Capcom has announced that
Dead Rising for the Nintendo Wii is in development and will hit store shelves this Winter.
The game, which will be subtitled
Chop Till You Drop, uses the same engine as the Wii version of
Resident Evil IV, meaning you can point your Wiimote at hordes of zombies and shoot them wherever you please.
Capcom says that there will also be slash and bludgeon gestures, along with the ability to shake off zombie attacks during your fight for survival.
Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop follows the tale of Frank West, a freelance journalist investigating some strange happenings in the small suburban town of Willamette. He flees to the local shopping mall, thinking it'll be a safe haven but it turns out to be anything but that.
Dead Rising first appeared on Xbox 360 in August 2006 and we felt it was a barrel of fun. Capcom promises improved save functionality in the Wii version, which should enable more seamless gameplay.
