Crysis. November 16th.
Well, that's all you really need to know, isn't it?
In a press release sent out today, EA and Crytek have announced that the year’s most anticipated shooter,
Crysis will see a release across North America and Europe on the 16th of November, 2007 and that the game will be a PC exclusive.
Console versions are
rumoured to be in the works, but currently the only confirmed platform is PC. The game will be compatible with
both DirectX 9 and DirectX 10, though specific hardware requirements have not been released yet.
The game itself tells the story of an alien attack on a small tropical island and players must take the role of Jake Dunn, a Delta Force soldier sent in to investigate the situation and battle the alien threat. The environments will be incredibly varied, incorporating the same jungle environments as seen in
Far Cry, a frozen jungle landscape and a zero-gravity alien spaceship where players must overcome nausea and aliens alike.
The singleplayer game will be approximately ten hours long for an average player. The game will also come with three different multiplayer modes, supporting up to 32 players and some truly massive multiplayer maps.
So, mark the date in your diaries and be sure to set a fair bit of time aside.
Crysis is coming.
