Valve have announced that de_nuke is goign to be the first map to be updated for Counter-Strike to include High Dynamic Range lighting.

In a news release on Steam, Valve said:

"Nuke will be the first Counter-Strike: Source map we've released that includes HDR lighting, and we think the community will like the way it looks."

Well, what else is there to say, apart from to mention that November 30 is the release date. It's Nuke, but with bells on. Bright ones.

Valve have also let slip that Argentan, a new map for Day of Defeat, will be released concurrently. You can find the official news here.

Oh, and if you're wondering where we got the awesome map of Nuke from, it's from CounterStrikeTraining.com. Woot.

In related news, Warren Spector is working on a Source game to be distributed over Steam. Spector is the genius behind System Shock and Deus Ex (although not the bastard-child sequel to the latter, thankfully). It rather looks like Steam is picking up some awesome momentum. Isn't is time for SiN episodes sometime soon?

Looking forward to a new Nuke? Tell us in the forums.
