Electronic Arts and Bioware have announced a new downloadable expansion to Dragon Age 2 a week before the game is even released.

The pack, called The Exiled Prince, will offer an 'epic quest' as well as an entirely new character for players to recruit - Sebastian, the titular prince who now seeks to reclaim the throne.

The Exiled Prince will cost 560 MS Points on Xbox 360, or roughly £5 GBP ($7 USD) on other platforms and will be available to play when Dragon Age 2 launches on March 8th.

The announcement has provoked a negative reaction from critics and fans however, who object to Electronic Arts' strategy of announcing premium content ahead of the full game - a tactic recently rolled out for Bulletstorm too.
