Midway has confirmed that the Xbox 360 version of
Unreal Tournament 3 will be arriving in Europe on the 4th of July - three days earlier than the game will be debuting in America.
Speaking to
Eurogamer this morning, Midway also outlined that the Xbox 360 version will come with all the downloadable content already available on the retail disc, as well as five totally new maps and split-screen support so that human players can play locally.
Though some worries have been voiced about how well the Xbox 360 version of
Unreal Tournament 3 will perform, those will probably turn out to be unfounded according to Eurogamer, who point to Epic's previous experience of porting the game and the UE3 engine to other consoles.
That said, Epic don't seem to setting their hopes for the Xbox 360 version of
Unreal Tournament 3 all that high and the developer doubts it will be able to knock
Call of Duty 4 off the XBL activity top-spot.
"
I wish we could do that," said Epic's Mark Rein "
but realistically, and unfortunately, we don't have the marketing dollars behind our game that those games have."
"
But I think the game is great on Xbox 360. It really rocks!"
