We're all waiting with baited breath for the first expansion to Half Life 2, Aftermath, to be released on April 24.
Technically, we're supposed to call it
Half Life 2 Episode 1, but that just brings back bad Star Wars memories.
Regardless, print magazine
CVG has an interview with Robin Walker, who works at Valve, in this month's magazine. Robin says that Episode 2 of Half Life 2
"has been in development for some time," confirming that there's more goodness on the way from the Seattle-based studio.
We don't know how Episode 1 is going to end yet, so we can't really speculate on the content of Episode 2. However, it's clear that the Source engine still has a lot of legs left in it yet, and we wouldn't rule out the possibility of a third episode before Valve decide to up and write a new engine for Half Life 3.
Episode 1 is going to be available both in retail and via Steam, for $19.99. Keep waiting... but in the mean time, come and talk about the expansion
over in the forums.
