THQ and Kaos Studios have delayed upcoming shooter Homefront by one week, meaning that the game will no longer share a release date with Electronic Arts' Dragon Age 2.
Homefront will now be released in the United States on 15th March, rather than the 8th March. No delay has been announced for Europe yet, but it's expected that one will be - we've contacted THQ for comment. The UK release of Homefront is set for 11th March.
THQ CEO Brian Farrell announced the delay in an investor call, giving no specific reason for the delay but pointing out that Homefront will no longer have to compete with Dragon Age 2.
'
We think we have a great opportunity to dominate retail on this date,' a THQ rep later told
Joystiq.
Homefront tells the story of an American resistance movement that is trying to liberate the US after a successful North Korean invasion. It'll be released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
The PC version will boast extra features above and beyond the console variants.
