For everyone who read our
Oblivion coverage, you're probably aware that it's one of my favorite games to grace the PC. In fact, aside from Oblivion there was only one more commercial release that I was looking forward to in 2006 (Neverwinter Nights 2)....until now, because there's talks of an expansion pack being ready before the year is out.
Bethesda Softworks made waves with how the company has handled micro-content for the game, which you can buy for prices ranging from $0.99 - $2.99. That content includes things ranging from armor for your horse to entirely new dungeons, and it put a big question mark as to whether a bigger expansion pack was going to even be in the cards. Well, the question mark can go away now -
Gamespot tripped over a presale ad at GameStop.com for
Knights of the White Stallion, the first expansion. It was listed at $19.99 for shipment around November 21st.
Of course, don't go looking for it yourself any further - Gamespot tried to reach Bethesda for comment, and in no time the pre-sale information got yanked from GameStop's website. We can only guess that it was not quite ready for prime-time yet...or Bethesda didn't want to be grilled as to whether the expansion would contain the other content that it's been charging for piecemeal.
Are you looking forward to the release of the expansion? Or are you still lost in the many miles of the original game? Perhaps you're swearing it off because addiction is not good for your job/social life? Tell us about your thoughts
