The software and console giant has just announced that sales of the Xbox 360 have increased by 214 percent following the Xbox 360 price cuts and that the Xbox 360 is now selling two consoles for every one PlayStation 3.
The sales, which are supported by sales figures from Chart-Track, include only those from the past two weeks.

The past year has been a time of huge growth for all consoles however, according to GI.biz, and the size of the installed user base for consoles has doubled in the UK over the past twelve months.
As of September 2008, the PlayStation 3 has sold 1.4 million units in the UK and the Xbox 360 has sold 2.3 million, while the Nintendo Wii has sold a jaw-dropping 3.6 million units. Over the past year both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 have sold a million units, roughly.
In the handheld markets though the PSP appears to be a bit of a dead duck. While the DS has shot from 3.8 million sold units in the UK to a stunning 7.1 million units, the PSP has only grown from 2.2 million to 2.9 million.
