Opera is going to be the browser of choice for users of the Nintendo Wii.
The browser firm announced the deal this morning, ahead of the official opening of E3 here in LA. Opera calls it 'A web revolution in the living room.'
No idea how people will navigate to specific websites, given the lack of a keyboard to type in URLs - we suspect a virtual keyboard will be employed.
Opera gives away its browser for free on the desktop, where it enjoys a very limited share of the market place - less than 5%. However, it makes money by selling its mobile phone browser to phone makers and it will certainly have made some decent cash on this Nintendo deal.
Xbox 360 doesn't support web browsing at present, and we're not entirely sure about the PS3. Although the PSP has a browser built in, this puts Nintendo in what appears to be a unique position in the living room.
