Crytek and Electronic Arts have announced that upcoming sci-fi shooter, Crysis 2, will be getting a PC demo ahead of release.

The news comes via the official Crysis Twitter page, which revealed the demo would include multiplayer and that more details would be announced soon.

The move likely comes as part of a response to the backlash Electronic Arts received when it announced that an Xbox 360 Crysis 2 demo was planned, but said nothing of other platforms.

The Xbox 360 demo, which includes two game modes and a single map, was released earlier this week. Crytek are already working on a patch to address disconnect and crash issues that have plagued Xbox 360 users.

Electronic Arts and Crytek have not yet announced if there will be a demo for PlayStation 3 gamers.
