Ubisoft has announced that it has delayed the release of upcoming racing game, Driver: San Francisco, by nearly an entire month.

The PC version of Driver: San Francisco will now launch on 30 September, after being pushed back from 2 September. The Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game will adhere to this original release date.

Ubisoft hasn't given a specific reason for the delay, but we have contacted the publisher for comment.

Unveiled at E3 2010, Driver: San Francisco continues the plot of the critically slammed Driv3r, but updates the gameplay with a new 'Shift' ability that lets players instantly jump from one car to another.

We went hands on with Driver: San Francisco's multiplayer portion late last month, greatly approving of Driver's furious Tag mode.

Check out our Driver: San Francisco preview for more information on the game, or check out the trailer below for a quick glimpse of the action.
