Mobile network provider Giffgaff is running a League of Legends tournament with a £10,000 prize pool.

The tournament is being run in conjunction with Riot Games and along with the money, prizes include Riot Games and League of Legends merchandise and Riot Points to be spent with Riot Games online.

Tournament highlights will be streamed on Twitch with a mix of professional and semi-professional commentary. The top eight teams will attend the finals which will be held in front of a live audience at Insomnia53, a large gaming festival in Coventry.

To sign up, players need a ranked EUW League of Legends team with at least five members and a maximum of nine, with all team members required to be 18 or over. Entrants must also be a resident of the UK or Ireland.

’In addition to nifty prizes, this is a great opportunity to raise your team’s profile and take part in an organised tournament. We welcome all levels of ability as long as you have a ranked team,’ said a Giffgaff spokesperson.

Throughout October, Giffgaff is also producing a series of ‘how to’ videos to introduce people to the League of Legends eSports world, featuring high level players including Michael O’Dell from Team Dignitas and William Li, the North American League of Legends Team coach.

Registration for the tournament closes on October 5 and the tournament runs until the final on November 20.
