The pay-what-you-want Humble Bundle has returned to its indie roots with its ninth Humble Indie Bundle.
The bundle includes Trine 2, Mark of the Ninja, Brutal Legend and the beta of Eets Munchies. Paying more than the average will also unlock rogue-like FTL and 2D perception-puzzler Fez.
Bundle buyers will also be able to download soundtracks for Brutal Legend, Trine 2, FTL and Fez. More games will also be added to the bundle after a few days for those paying more than the average.
In just its first few hours, the bundle has already risen more than $1.1m with the average amount spent currently sitting at around $4.50. At time of writing, more than 250,000 bundles have been sold.
Humble Indie Bundle 9 follows on from the group's recent dabbling with triple-A bundles. Having tested the waters with a THQ-themed bundle shortly before the publisher declared bankruptcy, then a bundle around Deep Silver's titles was launched with an EA Origin bundle launching hot on its heels.
The EA Origin bundle raised more than $10.5m with EA donating the whole lot to charity. EA even provided Steam keys for its titles where it was possible.
The Humble Bundle team has also been putting out weekly sales and there are still a few hours left on the clock for its Arcen Games bundle, featuring AI War and A Valley Without Wind.
The Humble Bundle treatment has even been attempted with non-game bundles with the group testing out pay-what-you-want bundles of e-books, music and most recently a stand-up comedy bundle.
